[21]CLAVEL ACABADO

Aquí podéis ver la etiqueta que pongo para firmar mis obras. Es una letra M y una mariposa estampadas con unos sellos que comnpré la primera vez que fui a Londres, en Covent Garden, y que me encantaron. Luego le bordo la fecha y la adorno un poco…

***Here you can see the label I use in my works. It consists in an M and a butterfly printed with two stamps I bought in Conven Garden, the first time I visited London, which I felt in love with inmediately. Then I embroider the date and do some embeblishment…***

MÁS DETALLES DE [21]CLAVEL

Éste es el acolchado por el revés. A máquina sólo se lo hice por el borde, dejando el centro para el acolchado a mano por el borde de la costura, como comenté en otro post.

Si no le pongo un relleno bien rígido (y en este caso no lo lleva), todavía no consigo que no me queden arrugas por el revés al acolchar a máquina.

***This is the quilting on the back. I used machine quilting only in the wide border. The center was hand quilted, as I told you in another post.

If I don’t use a rigid batting (wich is not the case), I can’t avoid these awfull winkles on the reverse when machine quilting, yet…***

De todas formas, no me importa la perfección. He disfrutado haciéndolo y además me gusta el resultado. ¡Ojalá aplicase lo mismo en otros ámbitos de mi vida!

Nuevo trabajo. Aquí puse en práctica varias técnicas que no había probado nunca. Por un lado, los bloques de patchwork a máquina, que saqué de un libro de bloques japoneses, y por otro el acolchado a mano sobre la costura. Estoy satisfecha con el resultado en general, pero no demasiado con la calidad técnica. Está claro que para ciertos trabajos se requiere práctica…

Es un regalo que le hice a María por su cumpleaños, este noviembre.

***New Job. Here I practiced several techniques that had not ever tasted. On one hand, patchwork blocks machine pieced, I got from a japanesebook and on the other hand “stiching in the ditch”. I am satisfied with the outcome in general, but not too much with the technical quality. It is clear that for some jobs it takes practice …
