[8]RANUNCULUS PATCHWORK

Sigamos mostrando cosas antiguas… Aunque creí que esta obra ya la había posteado, porque ya va a hacer un año que la acabé y que se marchó a casa de sus nuevos dueños, en honor de quien la hice.

Para mí fue un trabajo muy importante en el aprendizaje,  sobre todo porque su tema figurativo requería una planificación muy cuidadosa desde el principio y ceñirse a esos esquemas temáticos, lo cual a mí me cuesta mucho y realmente no tengo claro que me guste. Cierta improvisación en mi trabajo lleva la composición por otros derroteros y suele hacer aflorar cosas interesantes…

Técnicamente fue interesante poner en práctica métodos como el crazy patchwork, el acolchado libre a máquina, imprimir sobre tela una imagen escaneada… Fue el inicio de un proceso.

***Technically it was interesting to implement methods like crazy patchwork, machine-free quilting, printing on fabric a scanned image … This was the beginning of a process.***

FONDO ACABADO Y ACOLCHADO

Y parece que Catalina está dando su visto bueno. ¿Por qué a los gatos de “cosedoras” les gusta tanto ponerse en medio cuando estamos fotografiando los trabajos?

Ya cosí todo el fondo, lo apliqué sobre un marco de algodón rosa y lo acolché a máquina. Decidí acolcharlo antes de aplicar los demás elementos para darle cuerpo a la tela del fondo, ya que es demasiado delgada…

Y ya se puede ver la primera figura, aplicada bordando el dibujo a máquina después de escanearlo e imprimirlo sobre la tela. Es la primera vez que uso este método y no estoy segura del resultado… Tendré que seguir intentándolo.

And you can already see the first figure. I applied it machine embroidering the drawing after scanning and printing it on fabric. It is the first time I use this method and I am not sure of the result … I’ll have to keep trying.***

NUEVO TRABAJO DE PATCHWORK

Todavía no he conseguido tener al día la documentación de los trabajos de coser que voy haciendo. Mi anhelo sería ir mostrando los avances a medida que los voy realizando, a la vez que dejo constancia de los antiguos ya acabados. Es cuestión de encontrar un método…

De todas formas, en mi pagina de Flickr se pueden encontrar las imágenes de éstas y otras actividades.

Aquí os muestro un inicio del trabajo, con el método del “english paper-piecing”. Como podéis ver, formando cubos tridimensionales, que van a configurar el fondo sobre el que aplicar figuras.
